Features

Hey everyone! Peter here. Third time’s a charm, and that is certainly the case for our integration updates (Post 1, Post 2)! Today we are celebrating the launch of the Roll20-Demiplane Integration Public Alpha! It’s the start of a new and evolving way to experience your games, both in person and online! Today, we’re releasing several new capabilities: Cross-Platform Sync, new Roll20 Subscriber Benefits related to Demiplane, and the launch of our Public Alpha Character integration, featuring the Starfinder 2e Playtest Character Sheet.

Cross-Platform Sync – Or Buy it Once, Get it Twice!

Cross-Platform Sync is live! Cross-Platform Sync is a feature that allows you to purchase a game title once and access it across both Roll20 VTT and Demiplane platforms. Our goal with Cross-Platform Sync is to eliminate the need to buy the same title separately for each platform: it’s a natural step towards a more streamlined and cost-effective experience to play.

As of today’s launch, we have four publishers participating in our Cross-Platform Sync at launch! This means you can get all your previously purchased Marvel The Multiverse Role-Playing Game, ALIEN: The Role-playing Game, and all Pathfinder and Starfinder titles on the opposite platform (so long as they exist on both sites). Additionally, you can unlock Hope Reborn from R. Talsorian Games, too!  Benefiting from Cross-Platform Sync does require you to link your Demiplane and Roll20 accounts. We have a walkthrough on how to link accounts on Roll20 here (or from Demiplane here).

We look forward to continuing to expand the number of titles available under Cross-Platform Sync and will share updates as we do so.

Shared Subscriptions

Shared subscription benefits for Roll20 subscribers are also live! Today’s release includes new Roll20 subscriber benefits: Roll20 subscribers now share the same benefits as a Demiplane subscriber, including content sharing with up to 24 people and unlimited character creation across the Demiplane platform. These shared features unlock a whole world of fun and will only build momentum as we integrate more and more character sheets into the Virtual Tabletop. To activate these shared subscription benefits, you will need to link your Demiplane and Roll20 accounts.

You can read more about shared subscription benefits here.

Demiplane Character Integration Public Alpha & Starfinder 2e Playtest

Alongside the above two benefits, our Character Integration Public Alpha also launches today! This first step in our broader Demiplane Integration makes Demiplane’s Starfinder 2e Playtest available as a new Character Sheet in Roll20’s Jumpgate Virtual Tabletop. We cover some of the reasons behind starting with Starfinder 2e in our original update here. To try this first game system a shot, you’ll need to Create a New Game in Roll20 and select ‘Starfinder 2e Playtest by Demiplane’ as your Character Sheet. If your account is linked – you are all set! You do not need a subscription to take part in Demiplane character sheets on Roll20. We have multiple ways to get started with Starfinder 2e Playtest in our help article here!

Please note, each individual member of your party will also need to link their account to use the Demiplane character sheet. We’ll prompt them at the point that is needed.

Public Beta and Beyond

We’re targeting mid- to late-Q2 for the release of our Character Integration’s Public Beta. This release will open up even more great content for folks to enjoy.

For Public Beta, we’ll be working on bringing in Demiplane Sheets to the Roll20 VTT. Our goal is to not only allow for users to use those sheets in new campaigns on Roll20, but also to link those character sheets into existing campaigns. We’re excited to be bringing this functionality to each of you as we approach the exciting new releases of games like Cosmere RPG and Daggerheart around that time.

We will release more information about the Beta as we progress, and we hope you will come along for the ride with us.

Thank You!

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our release today! I’m really energized by the work the team has accomplished, and they’re eager to deliver the next step. Any feedback we collect over the next few weeks will help us as we drive towards our Public Beta, so please let us know your thoughts!

See you at the table!

Peter

PS: We’ll be actively keep an eye on how things progress, but it something wonky or unexpected does pop up, please feel welcome to submit a support request to Roll20 or Demiplane.
